How it works
Start with three plain facts: who the song is for, how you know them, and one or two memories that would make them smile. Our builder turns that into original lyrics with clear verses and a chorus you can edit. When song audio is available, you press one more button and wait a couple of minutes while the track is composed from your words.
Step one is always free: draft lyrics, change a line, swap a rhyme, or rewrite the bridge until it sounds like you. Step two turns those lyrics into an MP3 you can download and keep on your phone. You also get a simple gift-card layout with the title and lyrics — handy for texting a screenshot or printing a small card.
What you receive
You receive a titled song with sectioned lyrics, an audio file in MP3 format, and the right to download it for personal gifting. Re-do credits let you try a different vocal tone or style while keeping the same story. Nothing ships in the mail; the keepsake is digital, which is why it works for last-minute birthdays across time zones.
Names in lyrics are spoken by synthetic voices. Pronunciation can be imperfect, especially for uncommon names or nicknames. If a line sounds wrong, edit the spelling in the lyrics box (for example writing "Katie" as "Kay-tee") before you generate audio.
How long it takes
Lyrics usually return in under a minute. Audio takes longer — often one to three minutes — because the music model renders the full track. Plan a quiet moment to listen together rather than refreshing every few seconds. You can leave the tab open; your finished song is stored on this device in My songs.
Writing a brief that sings
The best gifts are specific. Instead of "she is kind," try "she saves every voicenote from the kids" or "he still hums that road-trip song from 2009." Inside jokes work when you explain them in a short phrase. Mention places, pets, foods, or rituals. Keep each memory to a sentence so the model can weave them into verses without crowding the chorus.
Pick a mood that matches the room: heartfelt for anniversaries, upbeat for milestone birthdays, gentle for memorials, funny for siblings who roast each other. Choose a music style your recipient actually listens to — acoustic pop for easy sing-alongs, piano ballad for weddings, lullaby for new parents.
Pricing in plain terms
Lyrics drafts cost nothing. Each visitor can claim one free finished song while daily capacity allows. Extra songs and re-dos use simple packs — one song with two re-dos, or three songs with six re-dos total. Card checkout is not open yet; you can reserve a pack price with your email on the pricing page.
Honest limits
Songs are generated by software, not performed by a human band. They are original, but they can sound synthetic. We refuse hateful or adult content. You should only include details you have the right to share. Songkeepsake stores briefs and lyrics to deliver your track and improve reliability; see privacy for retention.
